“Welcome to the Colico camp, with the request to leave it better than you found it”

At Colico, you live the scout spirit and style, with maximum respect for the natural environment and in harmony with it.

1. The utmost attention must be paid to safety with regard to the danger of fire, as this is a particularly sensitive area where fire has already caused damage (see points 13, 14 and 15).
2. In the event of strong winds and heavy rainfall, it is essential to move away from wooded areas and retreat to masonry structures, as trees or large branches may fall.
3. For contractual and insurance reasons, access and use of the facilities is reserved exclusively for people registered for the current year with recognized Scout Associations (within WOSM, WAGGGS) covered by insurance for civil liability and accidents, after having made the reservation on: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.and obtained the consent of the Secretariat. The constant presence of an adult head of unit is required. Access to parents, relatives, carers or friends is not allowed, as they are not insured. Access to service providers or for maintenance professionals is allowed.
4. The Camp Managers and the heads in charge of the units must courteously send away strangers who may enter the Camp, remembering that illegal access to private property constitutes a violation of art. 637 of the Penal Code. In case of dispute or resistance, contact the Carabinieri (tel. 0341/940106 or 112) or the Local Police (tel. 345/6213424) without delay.
5. Access must only take place from the three gates in succession, the first two controlled by an electric lock whose code will be provided by the Camp Manager to the head in charge of the unit and must not be disclosed to outsiders.
6. The tents must be positioned in the areas agreed with the Camp Manager. In the meadows it is forbidden to dig channels around the tents. Remove stones and branches from the areas kept as lawns, to prevent anyone from getting hurt while playing and to facilitate the cutting of the grass.
7. It is possible to access the field with only one car per unit up to the meadow of S. Nicolao, which can be used for emergencies and service, and must be parked in the lower part of the lawn, at the end of the road. Any other cars must be parked between the first iron gate and the old weighbridge, at the entrance to the property entering on the right.
8. All the taps at the Camp dispense drinking water, to be used without waste. The fountain on the side of the Chalet must not be used for washing dishes (the drain is clogged).
9. At the toilets of the Chalet and the Witches, the ceramic sinks must be used only for personal hygiene; the dishes must be washed in the steel tubs. At the toilets at the lake, the steel tub must be used only for personal hygiene; the dishes must be washed in the taps located a little higher, near the outdoor showers.
10. Electricity is produced by photovoltaic panels; it is therefore essential to economize this resource as much as possible. If the electricity runs out, it is possible to activate the diesel generators (at the Chalet) or petrol generators (at the Witches/Baitone) by giving prior notice to the Camp Manager.
11. Open food should not be left in the two kitchens; only non-perishable food may be left hermetically sealed and not expiring. Inform the Camp Manager when the gas cylinder runs out.
12. Waste must be properly sorted and disposed of by scrupulously following the rules illustrated inside the two kitchens.
13. The campfires can only be lit in the 5 places set up (Chapel of St. Nicholas, meadow of St. Nicholas, meadow of the Witches, meadow of the Reeds, meadow of the Smugglers) and always manned when lit.
14. Any braziers or other camp kitchens should be placed away from dry vegetation, raised from the ground and always manned when lit.
15. The extinguished ash from braziers, fireplaces, stoves and campfires must be deposited in the places indicated by the Camp Managers. Avoid scattering ash on the meadows or in the woods.
16. Firewood from the ground can be collected; it is absolutely forbidden to cut trees and shrubs of any kind in the woods.
17. The use of construction poles in the storage next to the canoes and in the Witches' meadow is allowed, to be stored neatly at the end of the activity. Cutting to reduce their length is not allowed, nor is interlocking incisions.
18. The use of canoes and kayaks is subject to the prior consent of the person in charge (Alberto Ballerio 348/9018447 - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and is under the exclusive responsibility of the head of the unit who uses them. The use is reserved for units that carry out summer camps and in any case with stays at the camp for more than two days.
19. Smoking and football are prohibited at the field.
